HOWTO: Oracle Web Applications; PL/SQL Cartridge Web Pages
Oracle Web Applications using PL/SQL Cartridge functionality or mod_plsql wtih Apache.- Install the OWT (Orion Web Toolkit) Foundation package.
Available Samples
- "OWT Show Users": Oracle Apps Users (Code owt_show_users.plb & Link owt_show_users)
- Display Apps Users and Responsabilities. Illustrates: how to drill down into detail records (responsabilities); how to receive and validate input parameters.
- "SCNX Show Users": Scanner User Audit (Code scnx_show_users.plb & Link scnx_show_users)
- This is a simple web page with two nested cursors showing the expand drill down functionality.
Sample Installation
- Install the sample "SCNX Show Users" form
- scnx_show_users.plb
- This package uses the scnx_time_log table (cr_scnx_time_log.sql), but it's easy to substitute with any other table/cursor.
- Install the sample "OWT Show Users" form
- These are the images being used by both samples:

If in Oracle Apps, place them in the $OA_MEDIA directory.
- If in Oracle Apps folow the following security steps:
- System Administrator -> Security -> Web PL/SQL
- Register the package or procedure
- Run by directing your browser to the base oracle installation/pls/[DAD]/scnx_show_users
- Note: DAD is the Database Access Descriptor, usually set to the instance name.
